Psychologist - Permanent, Full Time

Under the direction of a Program Manager and as part of an interdisciplinary team with Mental Health and Addiction Services, the PhD-level Psychologist provides a complex range of assessment, treatment and case coordination services to a primarily adult community mental health and addiction population. This position is within the Adult Therapy Program and provides program consultation and co-ordination, preceptor  students in formal clinical practicum, evaluation of clinical interventions, and provides professional and public education regarding mental health and addiction issues and resources.

 

Education:

CPA or APA accredited PhD in Clinical Psychology at or near completion.  Must have or be eligible for practicing registration with Sask. College of Psychologists as a Doctoral Psychologist with an Authorized Practice Endorsement. Psychologists seeking registration within Saskatchewan are invited to apply. 

Experience:

One year (post doctorate) recognized experience in working within community mental health and addiction services is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of intervention strategies (individual and group) for individuals with mental health or addiction problems in a community based setting.  Demonstrated ability to identify, implement and evaluate areas of client difficulty across a wide range of clinical presentation and formulate evidence based intervention.  Knowledge of and ability to administer and interpret a comprehensive range of psychological tests.   Broad knowledge of community resources including treatment programs and support agencies.  Excellent interpersonal competence including effective problem solving; workload management and ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting.

Additional Information:

Ability to work flexible hours based on operational needs.  Must have a valid driver's license.
