We are seeking a Post-Doctoral Clinical Research Fellow in Psychology to join a multidisciplinary clinical research program dedicated to improving mental health outcomes in children. This position is full time and will involve a combination of direct clinical service and clinical research under the supervision of Dr. Jennifer Crosbie (Lab). This is a one-year position with the option of renewal for a second-year.
The Post Doctoral Fellowship is embedded within a clinical research programme that investigates behaviour, cognition and genetics in ADHD and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Opportunities across a range of research areas are available including the overlap of mental health conditions in both population and clinic samples, novel interventions for brain-based disorders using virtual reality, association between environmental exposures, determinants of health and genetic risk. All supervision and clinical hour requirements for registration will be fulfilled.
Here's What You'll Get To Do
- Participate in clinical care within outpatient mental health environment with a focus on children and youth with neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Engage in diagnostic interviewing and consultation across a range of complex mental health disorders and their comorbidities as part of clinical training.
- Coordination and delivery of one or more clinical research projects involving video game based cognitive rehabilitation of executive function in children with a range of disorders.
- Work as part of a team of clinical researchers and be involved in all aspects of the research process, from data analysis to manuscript writing.
- Work in a multi-disciplinary environment with a diverse range of training opportunities. Supervision will be provided by senior staff in the Department of Psychology.
Here's What You'll Need
- To have graduated from a CPA/APA accredited graduate program in clinical psychology and have completed a CPA/APA accredited pre-doctoral internship in clinical psychology.
- Internship level training in pediatric clinical psychology and/or health psychology.
- All degree requirements must be completed before the fellowship start date.
- It is expected that the applicant will meet the requirements for issuance of a Certificate for Supervised Practice and pursue registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario during the first year of the fellowship.
