The FOR-MS Fellowship: Fellowship for Optimizing Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis

Summary: This postdoctoral fellowship involves an interdisciplinary training experience in multiple sclerosis (MS) rehabilitation research. The mentorship team includes Dr. Lara Pilutti, Dr. Lisa Walker, and Dr. Sara Tremblay, who have expertise in the fields of exercise physiology, neuropsychology, neuromodulation, and neuroimaging. The fellow will be involved in research projects focused on the acute and long-term effects of exercise, neuromodulation, and behavioral approaches. The fellow will be exposed to leading techniques in these fields and will have access to state-of-the-art research equipment. Through this comprehensive training program, the fellow will be prepared for future positions in academic, research, and clinical rehabilitation settings.

Location: Ottawa, Ontario (The University of Ottawa, The Ottawa Hospital and Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, The Royal's Institute of Mental Health Research, and the Université du Québec en Outaouais).

Length of Contract: 1-year (with possibility of renewable).

Salary: Consistent with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Postdoctoral stipend scales.

The successful award recipient is expected to meet the following criteria:

1. PhD in a related field (eg, exercise science, rehabilitation sciences, psychology, neurophysiology); discipline-specific certifications are an asset (eg, CSEP Clinical Exercise PhysiologistTM)

2. Established record of scholarly outputs and academic achievements

3.  Demonstrated written and oral communication skills

4. Openness to collaborative interdisciplinary research

5. Strong leadership qualities

6. C ommitment to multiple sclerosis rehabilitation research
