Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology

St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow in Clinical Neuropsychology. This fellowship offers advanced training in adult and older adult neuropsychological assessment and intervention within an academic health sciences environment. The fellow will work with diverse clinical populations across inpatient and outpatient settings, contributing to both clinical service and research initiatives. A core component of the fellowship includes training in culturally sensitive care, with a particular focus on providing care to patients who are Indigenous.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive neuropsychological assessments for patients with neurological, psychiatric and medical conditions
• Prepare integrated reports and deliver feedback to patients, families, and referring clinicians
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatry, neurology, rehabilitation services and community partners
• Participate in ongoing research projects, including data analysis and manuscript preparation
• Attend weekly didactic seminars, case conferences, and professional development sessions
• Supervise graduate-level practicum students (as appropriate)
• Uphold ethical standards and maintain accurate clinical documentation
• Engage in training and clinical experiences focused on culturally sensitive care for Indigenous clients, including collaboration with Indigenous health partners
Qualifications
• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from a CPA- or APA-accredited program
• Completion of an accredited predoctoral internship with emphasis in neuropsychology
• Strong foundation in neuropsychological theory, assessment, and report writing
• Demonstrated interest in clinical research and academic scholarship
• Experience or strong interest in providing culturally responsive care to Indigenous populations
• Eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario
Training Highlights
• Supervision by a team of experienced licensed neuropsychologists and clinical psychologists, hours can be counted towards supervised practice with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario
• Exposure to a wide range of referral questions including TBI, dementia, stroke, epilepsy, and psychiatric disorders

• Preparation for board certification in Clinical Neuropsychology
• Dedicated training in cultural safety and Indigenous health frameworks
• Full-time payment of $64,000, plus 14% in lieu; 5 paid education days annually
