Position Overview: The Adolescent Health Lab in the Department of Psychology at Simon Fraser University seeks full or part-time Postdoctoral Research Fellows and Research Associates to work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Marlene Moretti, Canada Research Chair in Youth Psychological Clinical Science - Tier 1, and the research team on a nationally funded research program to develop, implement and evaluate interventions to support the mental health and wellbeing of at-risk parents and youth.
Postdoctoral Research Fellows and Research Associates will collaborate with our research team to be members of an international team of investigators and will work with large data sets, using advanced statistical analysis and qualitative methods, to produce first or co-authored professional and community presentations and journal ready manuscripts. Must enjoy working with a fast moving collaborative team of researchers and community partners; exceptional analytic and writing skills required. Familiarity with university ethics is an asset but not required. We seek candidates who are strongly committed to research and eager to advance their research or academic careers through participation on published works and senior authorship where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities May Include:
  Data analysis and interpretation, preparation of community and professional conference presentations, manuscript preparation, and related knowledge translation activities for ongoing research projects.
  Review, management and use of large databases, study procedures to ensure data integrity for upcoming and ongoing studies in the lab.
  Ethics applications, amendments and renewals as needed.
  Opportunities to participate in/or launch new research.
  Opportunities to mentor undergraduate/graduate students in data analysis and manuscript preparation.

Qualifications: Postdoctoral Research Fellows and Research Associates should be familiar with the fields of child/youth development, developmental psychopathology, intervention models and advanced data analytic methodology, especially advanced statistical modelling and related
programs. Strong interpersonal skills, writing skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving skills, independent time management and the ability to meet deadlines are required.

In addition there will be an opportunity to provide consultation on the development of a comprehensive ABI program with our inpatient program. 

 Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital services adults only (i.e., adult & geriatric populations). The position would be serving primarily an outpatient acquired brain injury population (e.g., TBI (mild to severe), stroke, tumor resection) with some cases involving differential diagnosis of dementia in older populations who have sustained neurological injury. As the role evolves there will be an opportunity to work with the inpatient ABI population on various programing needs over this next year.

We are seeking a Post-Doctoral Clinical Research Fellow in Depression and Suicide Prevention to join a multidisciplinary clinical research program dedicated to improving mental health outcomes in children. This position is full time and will involve a combination of clinical research and direct clinical service under the supervision of Dr. Daphne Korczak (www.Korczaklab.com) and Dr. Jennifer Crosbie (Lab).

This is a one-year position with the option of renewal for the second year conditional on successful completion of the first year requirements.  Start date is negotiable up until September 2022.

The fellowship is part of the CLIMB research program that includes an ongoing clinical trial “IAMSAFE" and the association between depression and premature cardiovascular disease, including effects on health behaviours (diet, physical activity) and inflammation, which is funded by CIHR.   The team is also testing a novel suicide prevention intervention for youth that present with acute safety concerns in a multi-site clinical trial. The fellowship is embedded within a large clinical research programme that investigates mood, anxiety, family functioning and cardiovascular risk in depression and other psychiatric disorders.

 For those who are not familiar with the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) Program, it’s an innovative, stepped care program that offers publicly funded, measurement-based CBT for depression and anxiety-related problems (including panic disorder, agoraphobia, social anxiety, health anxiety, GAD, PTSD, OCD).  Clinicians in the program undergo comprehensive training and receive ongoing consultation.  The psychologist hired would have a lead role in overseeing the quality and fidelity of assessment, treatment, and clinical consultation across the OSP network and would also contribute to the ongoing development of the provincial program, for which Dr. Martin Antony, a national expert in CBT and the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders, is the provincial clinical lead. In addition, a key feature of this role is understanding clinical needs of diverse communities in the region and supporting the clinical team comprising clinical consultants and clinicians to meet these needs. 1. McMaster Children's Hospital (MCH): Pediatric Chronic Pain Program - Temporary Part-time (Job Number: 93412); Hours per week: 22.5 

Position Summary

 The Clinical Health Psychologist in the Pediatric Chronic Pain Program will play a key role in ongoing program development and implementation, as well as quality improvements, the design of program evaluation and research projects. As a member of the inter-professional pediatric chronic pain team, the psychologist will deliver care to children, youth and families in an outpatient tertiary care setting. The psychologist will promote excellence in pediatric patient and family-centered care through expert clinical practice, education, consultation and research. Responsibilities will include: providing psychological assessment and treatment as part of an inter-professional team focusing on chronic disease management (interventions include individual, family, and group); managing and maintaining an active case workload as per program requirements and expectations; working collaboratively with other team members to develop and implement comprehensive individualized care plans for children and adolescents; providing results of clinical assessments and provision of treatment in an interdisciplinary setting; acting as a resource to other team members regarding psycho-diagnostic assessment, therapeutic intervention and program policy; providing consultation/liaison to caregivers and community agencies; developing and providing staff education and training; developing program evaluations, integrated research projects and quality assurance projects; and being an active member in program development initiatives.

Qualifications

 1. Doctorate in Clinical Health Psychology from an accredited university, with a preference given to those with an emphasis in pediatric populations. 

2. Registered or eligible for registration in Clinical Psychology and Health Psychology with the College of Psychologists of Ontario; must be authorized to work with children and adolescents (with a preference given to those who are also authorized to work with families). 
3. Extensive knowledge and current experience in the provision of psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment focusing on chronic disease management strategies in a pediatric population.
4. Experience with individual, group and family therapy for pediatric chronic pain is preferred. 
5. Expertise in a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, family therapy, motivational interviewing techniques, mindfulness-based therapies, and other evidence-based therapies).
6. A minimum of two years of recent, relevant experience in a healthcare setting, preferably serving an outpatient pediatric population.
7. Advanced skills in the development and documentation of specific interventions, conducting research (including methodological design, data management, statistics), and evaluating service outcomes for children and adolescents with complex health conditions.
8. Demonstrated competency and experience in the administration and interpretation of psychological tests, particularly those tests relevant to the assessment of personality and socio-emotional functioning.
9. Demonstrated strength in consultation, teaching, inter-professional collaboration, educating health care providers and community stakeholders, and supervising advanced learners.

The Coping with Neurological Symptoms (CNS) Lab at The University of the British Columbia (Department of Psychology) is seeking qualified candidates for a research-focused post-doctoral fellowship, with specialization in psychological aspects of concussion/mild traumatic brain injury.

Roles and responsibilities
Under the supervision of Noah Silverberg, PhD, ABPP-CN, the fellow will contribute to ongoing studies in at least two of the following streams: (1) mental health complications after concussion and prevention strategies, (2) interventions for fear avoidance behaviour after concussion, (3) functional (psychogenic) cognitive disorder. They will also be expected to develop their own program of research and apply for external grant funding. The fellow may spend 100% of their time on research or devote up to 40% of their time in clinical training, providing cognitive-behavioural therapy to people with persistent symptoms following concussion in the context of a research study and/or on an external adult neuropsychology placement within the Vancouver Coastal Health system.

Training environment
The CNS Lab is located at UBC’s main Vancouver campus (2136 West Mall). Our renovation (scheduled for March 2022 completion) will add soundproofed booths for telehealth delivery and new equipment for psychophysiology. We also have shared research space at the Rehabilitation Research Program at GF Strong Rehab Centre (4255 Laurel St). We have a local and international network of collaborators in psychology, psychiatry, neurology, emergency medicine, rehabilitation medicine, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. The CNS Lab is primarily funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Canada Foundation for Innovation, and VGH+UBC Hospital Foundation.

Research mentorship, classroom teaching, and service opportunities are available. The fellow will also have access to professional development opportunities through the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute, the UBC Postdoctoral Fellows Office, and various hospital rounds related to clinical neuroscience. The fellow will be expected to participate in mentorship, networking, and research dissemination activities facilitated by the Canadian TBI Research Consortium and Canadian Concussion Network.

Qualifications
Candidates should have completed a PhD in clinical psychology or neuropsychology from a CPA or APA accredited doctoral program, including a CPA/APA accredited predoctoral internship, within the past 2 years. Candidates with related degrees (e.g., PhD in health psychology or rehabilitation sciences) will also be considered. The ideal candidate will have a publication record that aligns with the CNS Lab’s research interests.

Term
The anticipated start date is August 1, 2022, but an earlier or later start date is possible. The fellow will be appointed for a one-year term, with the expectation of renewal for a second year.

Compensation
The salary for the first year will be $51,352 plus benefits. Reimbursement for conference registration fees and travel expenses are available upon reasonable request.
