    Nova Scotia Health is currently looking to hire a 0.5 to 1.0 PhD/PsyD psychologist to join the DBT team at the Borderline Personality Disorder Treatment Program in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia (centrally located within the Halifax Regional Municipality). We are an outpatient service run by an interdisciplinary team comprised of a psychiatrist, a social worker, psychologists, and trainees (including doctoral psychology students and pre-doctoral residents), providing all modes of DBT. The position is a long-term assignment, with a start date as soon as possible and an anticipated end date of December 5th 2023.

    Job Summary
    The Department of Psychology at the University of Victoria invites applications for the University of Victoria Psychology Clinic Director with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2023. This is a continuing position with opportunity for reappointment. The successful candidate will be appointed as an Assistant Teaching Professor (Continuing Appointment, full time) in the Department of Psychology and will become a member of the Clinical Psychology program. The successful applicant will be expected to teach graduate level courses in clinical psychology, provide clinical supervision to advanced graduate students, and oversee the operation of the Psychology Clinic.

    The University of Victoria Psychology Clinic is a training facility for clinical psychology graduate students that provides professional psychological services to the community, including assessments and therapeutic interventions for children, adults, couples and families. Services are provided by students in the M.Sc. and Ph.D. clinical psychology programs under the supervision of Registered Clinical Psychologists. The Clinic Director oversees the day-to-day operations of the clinic to promote excellence in education for our clinical graduate students while also maintaining the highest quality of care and ethical standards for our clients. The Director’s responsibilities include overseeing referrals to the clinic; development, review, and implementation of clinic policies and procedures; provision of information and support to the clinic staff, students, and supervisors; overseeing the Psychology Clinic’s assessment practicum; overseeing and management of the clinic budget; and overseeing maintenance, security and storage of confidential client information and test materials.

    As an Assistant Teaching Professor, the Director will teach clinical graduate courses and conduct clinical supervision of clinical graduate students. The focus of the graduate courses will depend on the successful candidate’s expertise and the needs of the clinical program.

    Assistant Teaching Professors in Psychology are not expected to supervise graduate student research but can serve on students’ committees if desired.

    Clinical Psychology Program
    The Clinical Psychology Program at UVic has been CPA accredited since 1997 and emphasizes scientist-practitioner training that prepares graduate students for clinical practice, academic, and/or research careers. Students receive core training in the social, developmental, biological, and cognitive bases of human behaviour, psychological assessment, diagnosis, intervention and prevention, psychopathology, ethics and professional issues, cultural diversity, social justice, research methods and evaluation, supervision, and consultation. The program offers two specialty tracks within clinical psychology: clinical lifespan development and clinical neuropsychology. Students and faculty from across the two tracks learn from each other in a collegial environment.

    The program currently has 12 core clinical faculty members, two of whom are Teaching Professors. Various theoretical perspectives are represented in the clinical work of our faculty members, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, family systems, attachment theory, Narrative Therapy, Indigenous ways of healing, mindfulness, and Humanistic/Existential approaches. Our faculty are involved in research spanning the entire lifespan and encompassing diverse topics such as neuropsychology of executive functions, trauma and self-regulation, immigrant adaptation and family relationships; traumatic brain injury; substance abuse; neurocognition, health and aging; interpersonal violence; mindfulness meditation; and non-suicidal self-injury.

    Required education: Qualified candidates will have a PhD in Clinical Psychology and either be: 1) currently registered with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia (CPBC), OR 2) eligible for registration and registered with CPBC within the first year of this appointment.

    Job Title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow or Senior Research Associate

    Term: To start ASAP for a one-year term from the date the position is filled with possibility of extension

    Status: Full-Time (35 hr/week) or part-time positions (17.5 hr/week each) considered

    Location: Virtual and/or In-Person, Vancouver and Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada

    Position Overview: The Adolescent Health Lab in the Department of Psychology at Simon Fraser University seeks full or part-time Postdoctoral Research Fellows and Research Associates to work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Marlene Moretti, Canada Research Chair in Youth Psychological Clinical Science - Tier 1, and the research team on a nationally funded research program to develop, implement and evaluate interventions to support the mental health and wellbeing of at-risk parents and youth.
    Postdoctoral Research Fellows and Research Associates will collaborate with our research team to be members of an international team of investigators and will work with large data sets, using advanced statistical analysis and qualitative methods, to produce first or co-authored professional and community presentations and journal ready manuscripts. Must enjoy working with a fast moving collaborative team of researchers and community partners; exceptional analytic and writing skills required. Familiarity with university ethics is an asset but not required. We seek candidates who are strongly committed to research and eager to advance their research or academic careers through participation on published works and senior authorship where appropriate.

    Key Responsibilities May Include:
      Data analysis and interpretation, preparation of community and professional conference presentations, manuscript preparation, and related knowledge translation activities for ongoing research projects.
      Review, management and use of large databases, study procedures to ensure data integrity for upcoming and ongoing studies in the lab.
      Ethics applications, amendments and renewals as needed.
      Opportunities to participate in/or launch new research.
      Opportunities to mentor undergraduate/graduate students in data analysis and manuscript preparation.

    Qualifications: Postdoctoral Research Fellows and Research Associates should be familiar with the fields of child/youth development, developmental psychopathology, intervention models and advanced data analytic methodology, especially advanced statistical modelling and related
    programs. Strong interpersonal skills, writing skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving skills, independent time management and the ability to meet deadlines are required.

    is accepting applications for a Clinical Neuropsychologist, Part-Time (0.4 FTE) who is licensed to practice in Ontario.  The primary role of the Neuropsychologist would be to provide cognitive assessments, treatment recommendations and discharge planning for outpatients presenting with complex neurological rehabilitation needs. 

    In addition there will be an opportunity to provide consultation on the development of a comprehensive ABI program with our inpatient program. 

     Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital services adults only (i.e., adult & geriatric populations). The position would be serving primarily an outpatient acquired brain injury population (e.g., TBI (mild to severe), stroke, tumor resection) with some cases involving differential diagnosis of dementia in older populations who have sustained neurological injury. As the role evolves there will be an opportunity to work with the inpatient ABI population on various programing needs over this next year.
